Ukraine, on Ophthalmic Innovation

More than 135 hospitals in Ukraine have been shelled, and about 10 fully destroyed – among them various ophthalmological departments were eliminated. In previous videos, we did what we could to raise awareness about ophthalmic needs in country, but the destruction also pertains to ophthalmic education. Ukraine ophthalmic conferences are off domestically, but the hope for Ukraine ophthalmic education lives on globally. Ahead of ASCRS in Washington D.C., we take a moment to shine a light on how Ukrainian ophthalmic education could be sustainable and taken to new levels internationally despite the conditions in the country. We urge ophthalmic societies and conferences internationally to reach out to support Continuing Ukrainian Education (CUE) – a phrase I just now happened to coin – however possible.
